2016 Media

The John Philip Sousa Band Festival took place on April 3, 2016, at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and featured four select concerts bands from across the United States. The program emphasized the life and influence of John Philip Sousa, “The March King,” on the American Band movement.

The 2016 featured performers:

Doane College Symphonic Wind Ensemble
Jay W. Gilbert, Director

Stillwater Wind Symphony
Dennis Lindsay, Director

New Mexico State University Wind Symphony
Christopher Hughes, Director

Col. Arnald D. Gabriel, former Commander/Conductor of the U.S. Air Force Band, Symphony Orchestra, and Singing Sergeants, provided clinics for each participating band.
