2015 Media

The inaugural John Philip Sousa Band Festival took place on May 31, 2015 at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, and featured four select concerts bands from across the United States. The program emphasized the life and influence of John Philip Sousa, “The March King,” on the American Band movement.

The 2015 featured performers:

Chaparral Middle School Wind Ensemble, Leslie Schroerlucke, Director
National Christian Honor Band, Marshall Forrester, Kevin Dibble, and Armenio Suzano, Directors
Quabbin Regional High School Symphonic Wind Ensemble, Peter Lewis, Director
Southeastern Louisiana University Wind Symphony, Glen Hemberger, Director, and featuring Col. Larry H. Lang, Guest Conductor

Professor Anthony J. Maiello, Associate Director and Professor of Music at George Mason University School of Music, provided clinics for each participating band.
