The John Philip Sousa Band Festival took place on March 12, 2017, at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and featured four select concerts bands from across the United States. The program emphasized the life and influence of John Philip Sousa, “The March King,” on the American Band movement.

Col. Arnald D. Gabriel, former Commander/Conductor of the U.S. Air Force Band, Symphony Orchestra, and Singing Sergeants, provided clinics for each participating band.
